How cliche was that title?
But it got your attention – woop!
And that’s because everyone loves a list.
If we can find a bulleted way to live our lives, we’ll do it…because it gives us results, quickly.
And if you’re anything like me, you’re likely skipping this part of the post and scurrying straight to the outlined points to get there even faster. But in case you’re not … heeey, I like your thorough style and wish I was more like you.
So, cutting to the chase …
This isn’t your ordinary
- Look for someone who’s your best friend.
- Find someone you can laugh with.
- Be with someone who’s kind to others.
list.
No.
Because lots of people can become your best friend, you can laugh with a ton of different people, and – thankfully – this world can be a pretty kind place.
So, here’s my personal way of finding “the one” amidst those other incredible people:
- Examine the way that you wish for things for them. Perhaps look at the way that you pray for them. Have you ever hoped that someone would have a good day so that they would be extra sweet to you later on {perhaps they’re kinda grouchy when they have a busy or bad day and you dread having to deal with that}? Or, on the contrary, have you ever prayed that they would have a good day because you thought they truly deserved it? Because they are the kindest, most generous {insert superlative} person you know? I like that.
- Identify whether you think there should be more of them in the world. It might be fun having kids with certain people {I can name several people for whom this may be true}, but do you think they should be replicated in order to make the world a better place? Would you love for your son or daughter to {one day} date someone just like this person {because they treat you and others so well}?
You pickin’ up what I’m throwin’ down?
Well, that’s it, folks!
That’s how I think I’ve found the one.
